Uclan was only created in 1992 but its roots go way back to 1828 and the institute for the diffusion of knowledge. The University is in the heart of the uk’s newest city, preston, and is a key element in the shaping of this exciting city’s bright future. The city is located within easy travelling distance of manchester and liverpool and london is only 2.5 hours by train. To add to the international dimension at the University of central lancashire, we are delighted to announce a strengthening of our relationship with one of our key partners in nigeria – global education study centres. Uclan has worked with global education study centres (gesc) for many years and together we have a long history of welcoming nigerian students to the University.

To further assist those nigerian students who wish to further their studies at the University, we are launching the uclan west africa team, based in the lagos offices of global education study centres.

By having a focused team with a permanent presence in lagos, we will be able to offer a comprehensive and personal service to all students every day – offering advice about programme choice; detailing personal experiences of other nigerian students at uclan past and present; assistance with the application procedure and offering visa advice. The uclan west africa team will offer detailed assistance with the application procedure – by using the online application form or by the completion of a formal application form which will be fast-tracked to the University for swift processing.

The team will ensure that you have all the documents required by the University to ensure ensure a swift decision. In the recent intake of september 2009 we achieved a 100% visa success rate for all students who applied through gesc. The fee structure at uclan is very modest when compared to many uk institutions, and the cost of living in the preston area is amongst the lowest within the uk.
